America Alone said, reviews
Folks,
There is a genre of fiction called “future history”.  These books all begin with the proposition…”what if?”Each of us read columns…or articles…or essays…from the country’s best writers almost every day concerning bits and pieces of our literal “World War” with Islam.  I do hope each of you has connected some of the dots in order to realize that said World War has already been declared against our very civilization by Islam. OK, OK, you say, but the “war” is taking place two streets over, and I would rather just “lay back and relax” until the war comes down my street.
Ladies and gentlemen, I have gathered 4 decades of first-hand knowledge of that war and placed it in a “future history” context.  Yes, it is fiction by necessity.  The story is only one branch of history as it may play out.
Nevertheless, in my heart of hearts, I believe each of you need and will appreciate an opportunity to “live it” in advance for when the war comes down your street… from whatever direction. Below is a “book-review” by a stockholder who just happens to be one of the most respected investment advisors in our country for many years.
 Your attention please …

For weeks now I have not been able to stop thinking about a haunting book I recently read.  In fact, this book left such a lasting impression that I just read it again.

The title of this Masterpiece is Texas Said NO!   It was published about a month before the November elections, and it was written by a noted author who this time appropriately chose not to disclose his identity, but who obviously has decades of chief executive experience within the international Oil & Gas industries.

Not too far into the story, which begins in late 2010 just as winter begins taking hold, America’s energy industries are severely disrupted by an orchestrated and state-sponsored terrorist attack.  And what transpires from that moment on takes the reader on a riveting ride through the harsh realities of what this nation’s citizenry would endure if this were  to happen.

With notable precision, the author manages to the weave predictable aspects of human nature, the country's many political weaknesses, and the current complexities of foreign affairs, into an adventure-packed tale that you simply will not be able to put down.

Readers will be shocked not only at how time-sensitive developments now unfolding around the world tie neatly into this novel, but also how ingeniously the author makes election-related issues now plaguing Obama’s Administration so very vital to the story.

So, if you are looking for entertainment and are not afraid of being jolted, I highly recommend Texas Said NO!   This book will swiftly capture you’re attention, it will teach you some basics of survival in such an event, and it is available in digital format for only $ 10 at

Sincerely,

Good read. The action sections are a very very fast read. So fast that I felt like I had just run down a big steep hill, leaping logs and gullies all the way. Breathless.

This was, of course, deliberate.

First fiction I have read in a long time. I did not have the time to spare this time, but after having read “Texas Said NO!” I have no character when presented with overwhelming temptation....

The novel America Alone Said NO is an absolute must read!

For me, it was a wake-up call. Somehow, even though I had read all of the best pundits and commentators’ thoughts about our society’s future; this book shocked me into motion.

The author does an amazing job of roaring through the story line. At the same time, he gathers threads from all over the globe he obviously knows first-hand---and without digressing at all into minutiae he allowed me to be present and accounted-for, every step of the way. I lived it!

From a small town in Texas, to the Oval Office, Capitol Hill, and battlefields around the world, he engaged me with each character’s thoughts and words and actions.

"I now own a year’s supply of wheat and dried beans and sugar and lard for my family."  I have also secured two .22 rifles, a four-ten shotgun for my wife, and 3,000 cartridges for both, for barter, and wild game harvesting. And yes! I have plenty of fishing tackle.

I have read the reviews above.   I would add some adjectives and adverbs of my own:   Stunning, gripping, sweat and blood soaked, chilling, and finally, triumphant.

Wow, Texican!
That was a downhill slalom down the “Monster-slope” combined with a 3-D movie in stereo!  I will read it again next week and take notes.

Texican,  I’m mostly impressed with the array of crucial and accurate bits of knowledge you strewed along the story-path like rose-petals at a wedding, without ever slowing the story line.  Thank you for the afterword as well.  It helped me come back to the present.

America Alone Said No! has a glaring problem---it ends, you see, and it is not a particularly long book. Of course, Lincoln's Gettysburg address was 1/60th the length of the epic speech which preceded it, and people tend to hold that it got its job done. So does this novel, with an incredible economy of effort despite the rocketing plot.

The book hits its points, then hits them again. The action never lets up,  and there never is a point where you feel comfortable putting the book down to sleep or take care of other bodily needs, because by page 3 it has you as strongly in its grip as Ludovico had Little Alex's character in A Clockwork Orange.

This is a hopeful, upbeat book, although realistic about the devastation America will suffer if current policies are not changed. The writer has a faith in the American people which is inspiring, and hopefully justified. (Particularly poignant is a subplot involving the coming apart of Joe Biden as President.)

In short, this is a book of the quality of the Rings of Allah series in its technical depiction of a future US, and much better written. The Rings of Allah writer is a nuclear weapons designer, whereas this author is a former oil company exec. But the technical mastery of the methods of attack are the same in both books, and I do expect America Alone Said No! to be up for awards in its category.

5 Stars.
